We have been running the dune stars for over 3 Seasons now. We had the first sets out at Dumont for sale and for demo when they came out. We had the 1st photos and we were the first to offer them for sale on-line. We have sold many many sets.
We have sold them to friends as well as customers and everyone we have talked to loves them.
We keep hearing from customers who are not convinced about the performance of the dune stars, that their friend said this or they read that in a forum about the performance.
This is what I know about them. We run with friends running the TerraCross and XTR Radial and we will out perform in the sand over any of these tires.
We have had many say to us when we are out riding that "those Dune Stars keep up pretty good." What they don't know is while they have been driving around in 4 wheel drive we were in 2 wheel drive. They are surprised we went everywhere they did in 2 wheel drive.
We use 4 wheel drive when playing follow the leader and one gets stuck ahead of us and we are on a hill. We also use 4 wheel drive when climbing the big hills like Oldsmobile, China Wall or Comp.
We did climbed Olds in 2 wheel drive, the digital dash was reading 34 MPH, but we actually climbed the hill faster in 4 wheel drive when the digital dash was only reading 26 mph.
Now TerraCross tires are a great set of tires. This is our tire of choice for our Rhino when we are not out riding the sand, however for sand the weight difference is about 40 pounds less for the Dune Stars over the TerraCross tires. Less weight means more power to the ground.
